Update 10/27/2010. Car sold for $11,000
Preserved and ready to roll this 1966 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan can be found on ebay with a buy it now price of $13,500. A true survivor, the car began its life in Rochester, Minnesota and made its way to California where it was always garaged. The paint, weatherstripping, glass, trim work, and interior are all original and in outstanding condition. The current owner has logged over 2,000 trouble free miles in the past year including a 400 mile road trip with 5 passengers.
Finished in “Medium Sage Metallic” the paint looks to be 100% original. No masking marks, no sanding scratches beneath the paint, no layers of bondo hidden below. A few dings and scratches can be found but for a car that is 44 years old the imperfections are minor. The Wheels are American Racing Torque Thrusts on BFG Radial T/As showing plenty of tread.
Bumpers and bright work are in excellent condition with no pitting or hazing.
Air conditioning works great and blows cold air.
The interior is nearly flawless and has held up beautifully.
Combined with the smooth running 352 motor, the exhaust has a nice subdued rumble to it. Bushings, U-Joints and power steering have all been worked on recently. The owner states that the car is a pleasure to drive.
