Vintage wagons tend to evoke memories of long vacations, a car filled with kids and Sunday picnics in the country when the day was truly set aside for family relaxation. With this 1956 Ford Country Sedan photographed in a pastoral setting complete with white picket fences, seaside cottages and a picnic basket in the back of the car one can certainly envision what idyllic life was like in the 1950’s. Listed on Ebay and located in Lakeville, Massachusetts this well preserved Country Sedan has a BIN of $25,000 but the seller is open to offers.
With only 70,420 miles on the odometer the wagon shows a great patina throughout. The two-tone paint is mostly original and the interior seats, door panels and headliner are described as ‘amazing’. Whitewall tires which sometimes stick out like a sore thumb if the car doesn’t call for them look fantastic on this Ford Wagon. With a closer look you can see that Thunderbird wire wheels were added that also look great but the seller does have the original hubcaps that are included in the sale.
Some thinning paint is evident in the hood but a good buffing might help bring out the paint shine. Overall the car presents very well with all the chrome and trim looking excellent. Born on April 12, 1956 in Dallas, the seller purchased the car from an estate and says it has been garaged from day one in its home in New England without any patching or rust repair ever needed.
Powered by an original Thunderbird V8 and an automatic transmission the seller says this wagon could drive anywhere. We like this car a lot as its hard to find original condition wagons like this. The BIN of $25K might be a little optimistic but then again wagon prices have soared over the past few years so he may not be too far off.
