It seems that silver station wagons are seldom seen but looking at this 1968 Dodge Monaco wagon I’d love to to see more. The woodgrain/silver combination works well on car I’m accustomed to seeing in drab olive green.
Not much information is given on this Craigslist find other than it is said to be in mint condition with one repaint. The original woodgrain finish looks fantastic, a testament to the care of the wagon. The Monaco is powered by a 383 2bbl V8 with automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. I’d love to see 3rd row seating, but I’d be nitpicking on what is a very nice car that has somehow avoided the ravages of time and family hauling all these years.
Fairly priced at $9,500 OBO, make sure you have plenty left over for gas.

What a beautiful testament to Detroit steel! With the large family that I have I’d love to put it to use. At first I worried that kids would ruin this nice wagon but then I remember it is ALL STEEL and would easily take the abuse and more.
I have one of these, blue though and not nearly in as good of condition. Bought it when I was 18. It had 69,000 original miles on it. Great car to drive. Not good on gas at all. It’s been parked for a while now, not running. I need to get it going again….
Sorry if I’m bringing up an old thread but I’m researching the same model after I found it on Craigslist. It should have third row seating, it just appears to be folded down in the picture.
Funny, I see a lot of late model silver wagons – it seems like dealers are reluctant to order a niche body style in a polarizing color.

My family had a light gold/wood tone Dodge Monaco wagon. I remember that you could load 4×8 plywood in the back. Flat. I think you could close the tailgate if you put the rear seat down before loading. We cruised from New Jersey to Florida several summers (family of 4 + 2 dogs + 4 bicycles [cycles on the roof]). Nice, smooth cruising. Terrible gas mileage.
I might be a buyer at 7500 if it had a 4 barrel carb it would probably use less gas
I remember my parents test driving one of these. They are huge. The back handles were cool. We also brought home a yellow Buick sports wagon with panoramic top window. We ended up in a Country squire much to my dissatisfaction. I was 8 lol 😂
