This 1966 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser is a well preserved and documented 37,342 mile wagon that is said to have no major issues. Out of Sarasota, Florida and listed on Ebay, the reserve was already met at the time of this writing with $5,200 bid. Low mileage Florida car like this always have me wondering if it started out as a snowbird’s winter car that spent much of its time in Summer storage.
With the thin pillars the Vista Cruiser already had expansive viewing but add in the roof skylights and the family won’t miss a thing! The paint is said to have some blemishes and chips that can be seen in some of the pictures but overall the paint and body look fantastic with a bit of a patina evident. All the gauges, lights and wipers work without issue. The power window on the tailgate works as well. Being a Florida car the original owner was wise to pay the hefty expense of air conditioning which is said to blow cold.
The interior looks fantastic with the seats, door panels, carpets and dashboard only showing minor wear in some areas. The 330 V8 is said to start right up even after sitting for a week and the car runs and drives great. Original documentation, owners manuals and Protecto Plate are included. Vista Cruisers are among the most iconic American station wagons ever built and finding a well preserved one like this Florida beauty is tough to find. The seller says ‘fly in, drive home’ and I love that idea!

My mother had a beautiful bluish green one. What color would that have been? What color do they call this one “clay” ?
