Apparently New York is the place to find early 1960’s Chevy wagons with striking color combinations. A few months ago we featured a very original 1960 Nomad out of New York with a wonderful silver-blue exterior matched with a red interior. This 1961 Nomad found on Ebay has a two tone silver and white exterior with a red interior, a sharp combination indeed.
This Nomad is believed to have just 55,218 original miles although the owner cannot verify the mileage. From the pictures, the wagon appears to be a solid original. The mechanical components are said to be original and very well maintained and the car is described as being a very roadworthy solid driver. The interior seats, door panels and carpets are all original and in excellent condition. It’s not clear if the car has ever been repainted, but the floors, rockers and underside of the car are described as very solid. Options include power steering, brakes and a power tailgate window.
My dad bought a two tones green Chev new in 1961 and we used to it delivery eggs plus run the family around. In inherited it and took it to college for several years. I always liked all the storage in the back and thought it was neat how the floor folded up to store things in. When I graduated from college in 1971, my dad replaced the transmission for my graduation present. I traded our wagon in on a 1969 Ford Fairlane in 1974 ish

My dad bought a brand new 61 biscane. He worked at a dairy bringing raw milk to be processed into Chicago. The run took about 7 1/2 hours. Since they would t let him go early,EVERY day he used the tank cleaner to steam clean the car. Lasted a long time looking good in a city that over salted every year. So my first car was a 3 on the tree V 8 power nothing that looked great. But when we got rid of it in 76 it was just a car. One of my many regrets

Every thing about this car is the exact same as one my dad bought in the early 80s. He bought it in Lower Lake, CA from a lady whose husband had passed away. It had been his car and she kept it in the garage for years. I know it had super low miles on it, though I’m not sure what the mileage was. I can tell you the seats still had the plastic on them. I still love that old car and the memories we had in it. Sadly in ‘88 shortly after my baby brother was born , my dad had a blow out and the car was totaled luckily my dad was fine. I sure wish he’d kept it! The silver and white exterior with the red and white interior was truly beautiful
