Mexican Beauty: 1964 Ford Country Squire

Usually short descriptions and limited pictures are what you might find on Craigslist ads but this 1964 Country Squire Ebay ad of few words has me both intrigued and frustrated! The seller simply states: “This beautiful piece is completely preserved, never restored, everything works, is 100% original.”

Considering the seller of this car is in Mexico, I sure would like to see a lot more information. In fact I want to see a TON of information and pictures before I’d make an across the border transaction. There is a BIN of $29,900 but offers are also being entertained. Mileage is said to be 27,100 which would make this one incredible survivor. It sure looks original to me but pictures can be deceiving. Paperwork or some more information would definitely help in making the case for its originality. No clue as to what’s under the hood as there is no mention of the engine, options or if its a 6 or 9 passenger.

My frustration aside, this is one beautiful wagon. Nobody did faux wood as well as Ford did in the 1960’s and the ’64 wagons are among my favorites. I’m not a big fan of wide whites on a lot of cars past the 1950’s but these tires work for me.

It’s hard enough to buy a car online and my advice has always been ask a lot of questions and request a ton of pictures until you’re satisfied and comfortable with the seller- if they ever balk at your requests, walk away. This looks to be a beautiful and original Country Squire that could definitely be worth the effort if seller is willing to negotiate the price and prove its originality.
