Could there be a better name for a 1950’s wagon than the Shopper? Suburban utopia at it’s finest. This rare beauty (271 produced) had an 8 year restoration that was completed in 2003. Found on Ebay, it comes with the original 383 with Torqueflite and dual 36″ glasspacks that should make any shopping trip enjoyable. It also has a few other modern upgrades that inlcude power front disc brakes, an early 1970’s Dodge rear axle, Radial wide whitewalls on 15″ wheels (14″ is stock.), Mopar performance electronic ignition, alternator to replace the original generator, Optima battery and an Edelbrock 4 bbl. carburetor.
Update 3/19/09 – Bidding topped out at $30,400 but the reserve was not met.

My Dad’s very first car was a 59 DeSoto Sedan. Top of the line, given to him by his Uncle when he bought a New Chrysler in 64. What a beast!

Jackie Sanderson…..Do you still have your 59? I had a pink 59 that we needed to sell several years ago and would love to have another one.
