With a 429 V8 under the hood, dog dish hubcaps and a stark utilitarian look, this 1969 Ford Galaxy 500 Country Sedan station wagon certainly fits the category of a sleeper. Found at Hemmings for a very reasonable $5,950 price tag, the owner states that the car was only used for annual pheasant hunting trips to Eastern Washington with “Italian oldtimers” and a dog named Jack. Performance-wise the wagon “runs and drives like a dream” and “is in excellent condition and super clean.” In addition to the 429 V8, the car comes equipped with C6 automatic transmission, air conditioning, an AM radio and a Detroit Locker rear end.

This is the same year/model/motor wagon I learned to drive in with my learner’s permit while driving my mom to the grocery store, then once 16, used to drive through the night with a handful of friends party hopping from one town to the next, and performing billowy, smoky burnouts dozens of times, something through power stance starts, but even better, rolling Reverse to Drive neutral drops with all 4 barrels a rockin’. Nearly rolled off a steep hill loaded with said friends feom over correcting a full throttle, powersliding burnout. Awesome times, even when shearing a set of axles when doing a burnouts through a puile of wet leaves ion the gutter.
