Ford was the king of the station wagons in the 1950’s and the Country Squire was the king of the Ford station wagon line.
This well preserved 91,201 mile 1957 Country Squire wagon found on Ebay includes an expensive paint job done about 4 years ago. The chrome is new, as is the windshield and the tires. Under the hood the original 312 V8 matched with an automatic transmission powers the wagon. The interior is described as mostly original and in good condition. The 3rd row seat has been correctly re-upholstered.
At $2,684 the Country Squire was the most expensive Ford for 1957. With a relatively low production number of 27,690 and only a handful remaining today this one of the more desired 1950’s wagons.

Very honest looking 1956 2 door Ranch Wagon found on 
Very clean and unmolested Country Squire found on Ebay that retains 95% of it’s original paint despite 199,000 miles on the odometer. The seller says he has 44 years of documentation including the original invoice and most if not all of the service records. Equipped with a 390 2bbl engine and automatic transmission, the Country Squire comes with power brakes, power steering, 2 way tailgate with a power window, AC (not working), tinted glass and an AM radio. The car is described as an excellent driver that starts easily, drives well and brakes without any difficulty. With a rear facing jump seat, capacity of the Country Squires from the era bumped capacity up to ten passengers- Perfect for a little league team and a driver!
Introduced to compete with the Chevrolet Nomad, the Ford Parklane was a one year model for Ford in 1956. Despite the clean design of a 2 door wagon, buyers just weren’t that interested in a well appointed 2 door wagon. Today everyone knows of the Nomad wagon, but the Parklane for ’56 actually outsold the Nomad by a 2 to 1 margin. Adorned with the distinctive Fairlane trim and a more upscale interior the Parklane was the most expensive Ford of 1956.
