Pictures of a dusty car in a cramped storage space lends evidence that this Ebay find 1967 Chevrolet Impala 9 passenger station wagon hasn’t seen the light of day for some time. A good cleaning has revealed a very solid 31,000 mile gem of a car that is said to start right up and purr. No mention is made of how long the Tahoe Turquoise Impala sat but a thorough fluid replacement would be a wise choice to ensure mechanical longevity. Unusual for an Impala is the 4 speed column shift manual transmission and dog dish hubcaps.  With the manual transmission, the 283c.i. 190 hp should be adequate power for the big wagon.

As nice as this car looks, some further detailing could really bring it to the next level. Some minor work is needed to fix a few minor scrapes and dings and an easy engine compartment detail would also help.

This 1956 Chevrolet 210 wagon found on Ebay only needs a few finishing touches to complete what has been an extensive exterior and interior restoration. Starting with an already solid California car, the wagon has been stripped down to bare metal and brought back to life by Lucky Chance Premier Body in Northern California. Along with the exterior restoration, the interior has been completely redone including new seats, carpets, door panels and headliner. The 210 wagon has a 350 engine with a 350 turbo tranny that is said to run great. The brakes and carb have been redone and a new set of points and plugs have been added. A few exterior and interior trim pieces need to be added and this car will be complete.

Apparently New York is the place to find early 1960’s Chevy wagons with striking color combinations. A few months ago we featured a very original 1960 Nomad out of New York with a wonderful silver-blue exterior matched with a red interior. This 1961 Nomad found on Ebay has a two tone silver and white exterior with a red interior, a sharp combination indeed.

This Nomad is believed to have just 55,218 original miles although the owner cannot verify the mileage. From the pictures, the wagon appears to be a solid original. The mechanical components are said to be original and very well maintained and the car is described as being a very roadworthy solid driver. The interior seats, door panels and carpets are all original and in excellent condition. It’s not clear if the car has ever been repainted, but the floors, rockers and underside of the car are described as very solid. Options include power steering, brakes and a power tailgate window.

Something a little different for today’s wagon find- A factory ordered race car 9 Passenger Kingswood wagon with a 427 big block. One of only two built, the 427 big block is blueprinted and balanced with 700 HP capable of an 11 second 1/4 mile at 117MPH. The Kingswood is said to hold many Michigan and Indiana 1/4 mile drag records. Priced at $22,500, you can find it on Ebay.

About a month ago we found a very original 1960 Nomad residing in New York with an asking price of $18,000. Not to be outdone is this time capsule 1960 Nomad out of New Jersey. Found on Ebay at no reserve, this Nomad was a one owner car until the early 1990’s when it was purchased by the current owners father who repainted it and had the 348 engine rebuilt. The Powerglide tranny was switched out but is available with the car.  An alternate brake booster was also added but everything else about the car is described as original, including the  interior, which has likely been protected by it’s plastic covers since the 1960’s. A few mechanical issues need to be addressed to make the car roadworthy including rebuilding the leaking water pump and finding the proper tripower setup to replace the single carburetor after the original was stolen.

Considered by many to be the most beautiful station wagon ever built, the 55-57 Chevy Nomads have been coveted by collectors since the 1970’s.  Except for woodies, most other wagons of the era took years before they were finally appreciated. Sadly, due to the impracticality of a 2 door wagon the Nomads had a short run.

This 1956 Nomad found on Hemmings with an asking price of $57,900, is a 2 owner California car that was a daily driver until 1990 when a restorer brought this already solid car back to it’s original glory. The motor, driveline and suspension components were all rebuilt. A 265-205HP V8  matched with a 2 speed Powerglide power the wagon. Power windows and steering are among the options included.

The exterior is painted in a striking Crocus Yellow/Onyx Black combination. The interior matches the the exterior colors and is said to be like new.
